 Background and Scope
Since its establishment by Professor Walter Isard in the 1950s, regional science has experienced nearly seventy years of development and has now become a high-profile cross-disciplinary study. There are many scholars from economics, geography, urban planning, architecture, environmental science, and related disciplines who have jointly created the current, thriving field of regional science. Taiwanese scholars have never been absent from the devotion and contribution to regional science. At the dawn of the 2020s, we hope to invite scholars interested in regional science to participate in this international conference held in Taipei in May 2020. We are looking forward to fruitful brainstorming by scholars in the fields of global regional science and the closely related areas of industrial organization and international trade, and sincerely hope that every participant will enjoy the spark of shared wisdom. We eagerly await your participation and hope that you will also enjoy Taiwan's vibrant humanity and beautiful scenery!​
